About Tango Body

Our mission is to offer a multilayer vision of tango through exploration and experience to deepen the knowledge, integrate, practice and celebrate the living art of tango as a social dance.   -Brigitta and Tomas

Brigitta and Tomas bring a remarkable new event to tango that combines learning, teaching and learning how to teach all in one, single environment. Their mission is to offer a multilayer vision of tango through exploration and experience to deepen the knowledge, integrate, practice and celebrate the living art of tango as a social dance.

At its foundation, Brigitta and Tomas bring nearly 50 years of dancing, performing and teaching. They are dedicated to providing quality and engagement in the classroom. Tango Body is one result of their 7 years of collaboration. The concept of Tango Body is carried throughout the day and week as the teachers in training assist and co-teach portions in the Master Classes, Open Classes, and participate in the guided practicas. As a dancer, you will enjoy the benefits of quality teaching that emerges from a collaborative effort facilitated by Brigitta and Tomas. Teachers in training can learn tools that they can immediately apply and form a joined teaching ethic with students and other teachers to encourage creativity and build community.

Tango Body is a project that creates an ideal environment for the learning and teaching of Argentine Tango as a social dance. It focuses on the body and physicality as the source and inspiration as our own bodies are made up of different layers and systems that function in collaboration. Tango is an embodied language and social expression that speaks through one's own force and through relating to what is in ourselves. Encouraging the growth of individual dance styles and creating the best tango for each person by teaching participants how to improve their awareness of their body and to be able to translate vision and thought to internal understanding and movement. As we focus on our own bodies, improving our tango within ourselves, we will contagiously improve the larger, community body of tango.
